• Charges filed in officer-involved shooting in Wildwood (westnewsmagazine.com) — A Wildwood resident has been charged after an officer shot him during a confrontation outside a home on Wild Horse Farm Court, where police responded to a reported domestic disturbance. Investigators say the man pointed a loaded handgun with a laser sight at an officer and falsely claimed to be a federal agent. The county’s Crimes Against Persons detectives are still investigating and ask anyone with information to call police. 
• Abby Carr Named to NFCA National Freshman of the Year Top 25 List - University of Missouri Athletics (mutigers.com) — Wildwood’s own Abby Carr, a Lafayette High alum now starring for Mizzou softball, has been named to the NFCA National Freshman of the Year Top 25 list. • Missouri S&T Concrete Canoe Design Team wins regional competition (mst.edu) — A Missouri S&T engineering student from Wildwood helped the university’s Concrete Canoe Design Team win its regional competition and qualify for nationals this summer. The team dominated every race and presentation category at the Mid-America Student Symposium, marking Missouri S&T’s first concrete canoe regional title in over 50 years and showcasing the strength of its civil and architectural engineering programs.
