• Suspect arrested after barricading himself in Willow Springs home (ozarksfirst.com) — A man wanted on drug and parole warrants was arrested Sunday after barricading himself inside a home on Post Oak Road in Willow Springs, prompting a response from Howell County deputies, SWAT, and a K9 unit. Authorities say he eventually surrendered without injuries after K9 Flash located him inside, and potential new charges have been sent to the county prosecutor.
   

• Publisher named Journalist of the Year (howellcountynews.com) — Willow Springs residents are seeing their local newswork recognized statewide as Howell County News publisher Amanda Mendez is named Missouri Press Association's first Journalist of the Year. Community leaders from Willow Springs backed her nomination, citing impactful reporting on the city marshal position and the Willow Springs R-IV budget crisis that helped spur financial reforms in the school district.
