Gallatin Ice prepares to reopen Haynes Pavilion ahead of hockey season following summer of renovations (fairfieldsuntimes.com) — Haynes Pavilion at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds is getting an $8 million facelift, adding new seating, a restaurant, pub, mezzanine, and upgraded locker rooms before hockey returns at the end of September. Gallatin Ice says the project will boost capacity to 1,500 seats and is still fundraising, offering naming rights on new blue seats and early access to season tickets for Bozeman hockey fans.
   

2. Tai Lane business owners weigh future of 21-acre property near MSU (kbzk.com) — A 21-acre pasture across from MSU near Tai Lane is on the market for $8.95 million, and nearby Bozeman business owners are anxious about what might replace the llamas and open space. Shopkeepers from Granny's Donuts to local dispensaries hope any future development fits their tight-knit community, even as they expect multi-story mixed-use buildings similar to other recent Bozeman projects.
   

3. DARPA backs Qunnect upgrade for more resilient quantum networks (sdxcentral.com) — Bozeman is one of just a few cities worldwide where Qunnect is testing its Carina quantum networking platform on live fiber, in partnership with Montana State University. New DARPA funding will help the company make these entanglement-based networks more resilient, potentially shaping future secure communications and advanced computing infrastructure.
   

4. NSF grant worth $3 million helping retain Montana teachers in rural areas and reservations (bozemandailychronicle.com) — Montana State University in Bozeman is using a $3 million NSF grant to help experienced STEM teachers in rural districts and on reservations earn master's degrees and fight burnout. Through tuition support, summer gatherings on campus, and year-round mentoring, 27 fellows are sharing new classroom ideas—from 3D printing virus models to math lessons built around tribal flags—to better serve students statewide.
