• Football roundup: Panthers dominate; Huskies stay undefeated as Cougars, Renegades face ranked opponents (stillwatercountynews.com) — Columbus football fans saw the Cougars fall 48–13 at home to third-ranked Manhattan, despite a strong rushing night from standout back Cain Hanson. Columbus kept pace on the ground but was outgained heavily through the air, and now turns attention to a road test at Whitehall on Friday, Oct. 2, while other area teams like Park City and Absarokee continue strong seasons. 
• Sibanye, Nye/Columbus negotiating committee reach tentative agreement: Union vote takes place Oct. 3-6 (stillwatercountynews.com) — Union negotiators for workers at the Nye Mine and Columbus Metallurgical Complex have reached a new three-year tentative agreement with Sibanye-Stillwater, and members will vote on ratification Oct. 3–6. After earlier proposals were rejected and a strike began Sept. 3, this deal mirrors one recently approved by East Boulder workers, including wage increases and a revised team-based incentive structure.
