• Two Prescribed Burns Planned for the week of Oct. 5 - Piquett Creek & Cameron Gap (usda.gov) — Prescribed burns are planned near Conner along the Piquett Creek corridor starting Monday, Oct. 5, which may bring extra smoke and traffic delays on Highway 473. Signs will be posted at the Conner cutoff and other nearby landmarks, and while no closures are expected, residents should be prepared for slower travel on forest roads during operations.
