• Fire destroys hundreds of cars at Missoula recycling center (missoulacurrent.com) — East Missoula firefighters were among several area crews called to battle a massive Sunday blaze at Axmen Recycling near the Wye, where more than 100 stacked cars burned with 50-foot flames. With no nearby hydrants, departments shuttled over 240,000 gallons of water to protect threatened buildings, and officials report no injuries while monitoring the site for rekindles.
