1. City, Veolia hosting another household hazardous waste collection event (theelectricgf.com) — Great Falls residents can safely dispose of household hazardous waste this Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 112 1st St. S, just south of the police department. The city and Veolia will accept many common chemicals, though not latex paint or mercury products, and funding limits mean they may stop taking items once the budget is exhausted.
   

2. Staigmiller sentenced in fatal 2025 carjacking in downtown Great Falls (theelectricgf.com) — A woman has been sentenced to a century-long prison term, with part suspended, for a 2025 carjacking that killed beloved downtown Great Falls tattoo artist Sarah Bailey. Testimony from family, friends, witnesses, and police described the random, traumatic nature of the crime and its impact on the Great Falls community, while the judge weighed punishment, public safety, and the defendant’s addiction and remorse.
   

3. Fostering community through the Adopt-a-Park program in Great Falls (krtv.com) — A new partnership of recovery and youth organizations has adopted Chowen Springs Park through Great Falls’ Adopt-a-Park program, and they’re inviting residents to help clean it up. Volunteers can join the first community cleanup this Saturday at noon as the group works to make the park safer, cleaner, and more welcoming for local families.
   

4. Join Montana ranchers in Great Falls for MSGA's midYear meeting (tsln.com) — Ranchers and ag professionals will be gathering in Great Falls May 27–29 for the Montana Stockgrowers Association’s MidYear Meeting at the Mansfield Convention Center in the Civic Center. The three-day event features policy sessions, industry speakers, Coffee Talk discussions, and a public Sunset Banquet fundraiser at the Newberry, offering locals a chance to connect with Montana’s livestock community.
   

5. KRTV Features Chinook Hall of Chapters Entry (blainecountyjournal.com) — Great Falls recently hosted the 96th Annual Montana FFA State Convention, where KRTV highlighted Chinook FFA’s creative Hall of Chapters display during its April 2 newscast. The exhibit, built around a symbolic clock and local ag themes, showcased students’ yearlong projects and goals even though it didn’t advance to the national level.
