Lee Enterprises acquires Great Falls Tribune (cdapress.com) ā Ownership of the Great Falls Tribune is shifting to Lee Enterprises, a major newspaper chain that already runs papers across Montana and promises renewed investment in local reporting. Former Tribune publisher Jim Strauss says the move should strengthen Great Falls coverage through shared resources and a stronger state bureau, potentially reversing years of shrinking staff and diminished community news.

One Of Montana's Most Popular Museums Faces An Uncertain Future (wearemissoula.com) ā The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, one of Great Fallsā top attractions, is losing all three of its full-time staff members, leaving its future operations uncertain. A major renovation funded by the Great American Outdoors Act will still move forward this fall, but locals are watching closely to see how the beloved museum will be staffed and managed afterward.

Grey Wolf, helicopter replacing Malmstrom's Hueys, has reached initial operational capability (theelectricgf.com) ā Malmstrom Air Force Base has fully shifted its nuclear security and rescue missions to the new MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopters, retiring the Hueys from that role and basing 11 Grey Wolfs here. Local crews describe how the aircraftās greater lift, speed, and hoist capabilities are already improving missile convoy security and backcountry rescues, including recent missions in the Beartooth Mountains and flights to Billings hospitals.
