The Helena Chapter of the Montana League of Women Voters will present an interactive, high-energy program titled: The Suffrage Timeline. This program tells the story of how women in Montana gained the right to vote in 1914 and then how women across the country gained that right in 1920. A great story for young women today to know and understand. This free program starts at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Location is the Lewis &amp; Clark County History Center at 618 Helena Avenue in the Steamboat Block downtown Helena.

Start Cancer Survivor Month with a morning of movement, connection, and lakeside inspiration. This community gathering is free to attend, with optional stand up paddleboarding instruction and rentals available for those who want to get on the water.

Enjoy a relaxed morning at Spring Meadow Lake with survivors, supporters, families, and friends. Light refreshments, conversation, and connection included.
During the gathering, participants can: •	Learn more about the new Helena Chapter of Cancer Support Community Montana and the expanded support services coming to the region. •	Join a conversation about survivorship and why support remains critical long after treatment ends.
🌊 SUP 101 with Goat’s Floats
Whether you're brand new to stand up paddleboarding or looking to build confidence on the water, SUP 101 offers a supportive, beginner friendly experience led by Amy from Goat’s Floats and her signature Goat SHOW: Safety, Happiness, Outdoors &amp; Wellness.
Amy teaches the essentials: •	Mounting and dismounting •	Water safety •	Turning and steering •	Balance techniques •	And everyone’s favorite milestone — how to STAND UP! With her simple, confidence building methods, 99% of Amy’s students stand up during their first lesson.
Class Sessions — $20 Registration
Choose one session: •	Session 1: 8:30–9:30 AM •	Session 2: 10:00–11:00 AM

🚣‍♀️ Paddle Pledge: Stand Up for Cancer Support
Two paddlers, Jena &amp; Kelly, are navigating the 734 miles of the Missouri River in Montana on stand up paddleboards to Stand Up for those who can’t. Their journey raises awareness for the power of cancer support to bring hope, compassion, and empowerment to those facing cancer. They have completed 385 miles, with the next 150 miles planned for 2026.
Dedicate a Mile(s) Honor a survivor or remember someone lost. Your dedication directly supports Cancer Support Community Montana, providing free programs for survivors, caregivers, families, and friends. Dedicate a Mile(s): •	From $1 for Mile 1 to $150 for Mile 150 •	Choose the amount that feels meaningful to you. •	Miles 100-150 pledges include a free SUP rental certificate from Base Camp Helena to use this summer.
Jena &amp; Kelly will be at the event to share stories from the first 385 miles and answer questions about the journey.

Kick Off to Cancer Survivor Month & Stand Up for Cancer Support

L & C Co. Historical Society 618 Helena Avenue

The Lewis and Clark County Historical Society (LCCHS) will dedicate the new Dennis McCahon Memorial Gallery at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 6, 2026 at the LCCHS History Center located in the downtown Steamboat Block, 618 Helena Avenue.Dennis McCahon was a prolific, creative and very detailed artist.&nbsp; His art featured Helena’s historic buildings, done to scale, and including the smallest detail.&nbsp; He created wonderful balsa wood models, colored pencil, and pen and ink art that show individual bricks and stonework, decorative trim, and intricate, historically accurate design features.&nbsp; Also the historian, Dennis included a written description of each piece.&nbsp; His ultimate balsa wood model, highlighting downtown Helena before the disastrous 1929 fires, is displayed in the Power Block lobby.&nbsp; He was a founding member of LCCHS and a life-long member.A former land use planner, Dennis also wrote about a variety of Helena area topics: weather, geology, history, philosophy, and sense of place. He walked from his west side home to and throughout downtown almost daily, discussed the importance of pedestrian scale, and encouraged the public to enjoy the many historic buildings up close. His ultimate artistic piece was the creation of Helena’s Sesquicentennial Mural in downtown’s Performance Square in 2014.LCCHS president John Shontz said, “The dedication and opening of the Society’s gallery is inkeeping with Dennis’s passion for history and art, and will provide an opportunity for Lewis and Clark County artists and organizations to display and sell their work to the public.”The History Center ‘s new expanded hours are Thursday and Friday from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, as well as by appointment.

COMEDY &amp; THE GOOD LIFE: LAUGHTER, COMMUNITY &amp; PHILOSOPHY????
FREE COMMUNITY EVENT/FUN FOR ALL!! Comedy, community, and philosophy go hand in hand — especially when comedian and philosopher Rodney Norman is on the mic! In this fun “thinky” comedy show and post-show talk-back program, get ready to laugh and ponder BIG questions about life.
Known for his hilariously unassuming, dead-pan, and delightfully disarming vulnerability, Rodney’s humor blends clean, family-friendly comedy with an infectious and uncontainable amount of joyful exuberance replete with philosophical wisdom.
To quote Mark Twain: "Laughter without a tinge of philosophy is but a sneeze of humor. Genuine humor is replete with wisdom."
Through raw and honest stories from his life that are belly-laugh inspiring and relatable to all, audiences will be invited to think about things like friendship, courage, justice, humility, happiness, love, and community. 
Post-show conversation will build on and explore some of the themes present in Rodney’s comedic work and Q &amp; A.
Free and open to the public. Doors open at 6pm. Show starts at 6:30pm, with an opening act by local comedian Kaiser Leib.
Post-show talkback with Rodney Norman to follow performance facilitated by community philosophers Marisa Diaz-Waian &amp; Mitch Conway.
Come one, come all…and join us for a fun night of community and “thinky stuff" through the lens of comedy and philosophy.
Cash bar. Free event. Donations appreciated (we’ll have some sort of donation thing set-up on site - pass the hat, drop a dollar, whatever makes sense…TBD).
All contributions will go toward philosophy in the community.
