Kalispell City Council to consider changes to downtown parking regs, including more expensive tickets (dailyinterlake.com) — Downtown Kalispell drivers could soon face higher parking fines, license-plate scanning enforcement, and new rules against simply shuffling cars along the same block. City Council is reviewing recommendations to raise ticket amounts, allow multiple daily citations, and push downtown employees into nearby permit lots instead of prime Main Street spaces.

Legals for May, 26 2026 (dailyinterlake.com) — Several official legal notices outline upcoming Flathead County court hearings in Kalispell involving child protective cases and parental rights, plus two proposed affordable housing projects within city limits. One project on Appleway Drive and another on 3rd Avenue West will go before the Kalispell City Planning Commission on June 9, where residents can attend, comment in person, online, or submit written feedback.

3. Kalispell students transform pile of dirt into finished home (kpax.com) — Kalispell high school students just finished building a three-bedroom home on Northridge Drive that’s now for sale, all through the Kalispell Public Schools Student Built Homes Program. Guided by teachers and tradespeople, they handled most phases of construction, gaining hands-on skills they say will help with future careers and maintaining their own homes.

Flathead schools are wrestling with failed levy votes, the valley’s white-collar sector is driving much of Montana’s economy, and a new feature spotlights a $2.4 million, 46-acre estate in Kalispell’s West Valley.
