• Ride for America: Nebraska 250 Flag Escort (america250.org) — A two-day Ride for America flag escort will roll across Nebraska next weekend, including a Sunday afternoon visit to the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home in Bellevue. Riders and residents are invited to join portions of the route, line streets, and attend ceremonies honoring veterans in Bellevue, Papillion, Lincoln, and several other communities as the U.S. flag is escorted to the State Capitol.

Bailey, a Bellevue firefighter and father of five who was killed in Iraq in 2007 while serving with the Nebraska Army National Guard.
