• Hastings Police Department's activity from June 1 (1077theisland.com) — Hastings police logged several incidents to start the week, including a reported theft and a reported burglary on June 1. Officers also made arrests on a Hall County warrant and for suspected DUI with related charges, plus cited a minor for tobacco possession, all within city neighborhoods residents know well. 
• Free meals for children available through Summer Food Program (norfolkneradio.com) — Families in Hastings can get free weekday lunches for kids ages 1–18 this summer at Hastings Middle School and Longfellow Elementary, with service already underway and running into late July. The statewide list also details many other Nebraska communities’ Summer Food Service Program sites, dates, and serving times so relatives or friends elsewhere can find nearby options.
