• One person in custody after reported stabbing takes place in Northeast Nebraska neighborhood (wowt.com) — Norfolk police are investigating a Sunday-morning stabbing that left a 17-year-old with non-life-threatening injuries and led to the arrest of a 16-year-old on assault and weapon charges. Officers are still searching for the knife and asking Norfolk residents near Klug and Spruce Avenues to check their property and security footage and call police with any suspicious findings or video.
• Norfolk man arrested after firearm, shooting investigation linked to Texas warrant (1011now.com) — Norfolk police arrested a 20-year-old local man wanted on a Texas felony warrant after an early-morning incident involving a stolen firearm and a shot-damaged vehicle windshield. Officers tied the gun to a Casey's gas station shooting and several local addresses, and they're urging Norfolk residents to report suspicious activity directly to the police division or call 911 in emergencies.
• NU Regents approve university representatives to Nebraska Medicine board (unmc.edu) — A former Norfolk mayor, Jim Scheer, will help represent the University of Nebraska on the newly structured Nebraska Medicine board, which begins work October 1. The board brings together leaders from health care, business, and public service, giving Norfolk a familiar voice in decisions that shape one of the state's most important medical systems.
