Cinco de Mayo Omaha (CDMO) returns May 15–17, 2026, to historic South Omaha for Nebraska’s largest and most celebrated cultural festival for 106 years. Recognized as the state’s #1 cultural attraction and recipient of Nebraska’s highest tourism honor, the 2023 Henry Fonda Award, CDMO draws visitors from across the Midwest for a vibrant, multi-day celebration of Mexican heritage and Latino culture.
The festival features live cultural music and entertainment throughout the weekend, Omaha’s largest parade on Saturday morning, carnival rides for the entire family, and a vibrant mix of food vendors, exhibitors, and businesses from around the Midwest. Hairball is more than just a band…a band plays some songs; a music act puts on a concert and then there’s Hairball, Hairball creates a one-of-a-kind event unlike anything else. The lights, the sound, the smoke, the pyrotechnics, the special effects, the screaming hordes of avid fans...this is not a mere concert and there simply is nothing like Hairball. In 2025, Hairball performed nearly 130 events, including private and corporate events. They are on track to match those same numbers for 2026. 
The triple attack of vocalists Dave Moody, Patrick Stone and Kris Vox lead a two-hour mind-blowing, spot-on homage to some of the biggest arena acts on the planet. The Hairball stage transforms into an entirely new rock spectacle over and over with Van Halen, KISS, Motley Crue, Queen, Journey, Def Leppard, Aerosmith and more brought to life by men who live and breathe rock ‘n’ roll. 
Brian HBK helms the electric bass, Billy Thommes tears it up on the drums and Michael “Happy” Schneider shreds the lead guitar, these rock ‘n’ roll warriors nail some of the most memorable licks and chops of all time, infusing their sound with the kind of cool stylizing and artistic mastery that gets hammered in with decades of tireless performing. 
Hairball has performed onstage with guest superstars and rock legends such as Alice Cooper, Gene Simmons, Dee Snider, Vince Neil, Rob Zombie and Joan Jett. In 2013, Hairball rocked out as the featured entertainment for the Minnesota Vikings-Pittsburgh Steelers game in London. The Vikings brought Hairball back for its 2024 New Year’s Eve halftime performance versus rivals Green Bay Packers.

Get ready to experience the heart and soul of Italy like never before at Omaha Children’s Museum. Newest cultural exhibit Ciao Bambini! This immersive and educational experience is designed to transport children and their families to the enchanting world of Italy, where history, art, and culture come to life.
From the rolling hills of Tuscany to the historic streets of Rome, visitors will explore this timeless country comparing the similarities and differences between their lives and those of children in the country of Italy.
Ciao Bambini! is a nationally traveling exhibit created by The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum in collaboration with the St. Louis Italian community, and made possible by the generous support of Bill and Sally Canfield, and Linda and Jesse Hunter.
