• Theileria detected in Nebraska cattle (thewayneherald.com) — Nebraska cattle producers, including those around Wayne, are being warned after the tick-borne parasite Theileria was detected in cattle imported into the state, though the Asian Longhorned Tick itself hasn’t been found here yet. The disease can cause serious illness or death in cattle, and herds may qualify for indemnity if affected. Full details are available in the May 28 Wayne Herald edition.
