📰 News we're reading

• Douglas jobless rate down to 3.4 percent (recordcourier.com) — Douglas County's August unemployment rate fell to 3.4 percent, and local officials say that may explain the unusually light turnout at the Sept. 14 Job Fair & Volunteer Expo in Gardnerville. Because Alpine County is grouped with the Gardnerville Ranchos NV-CA Micropolitan Statistical Area, its small labor force and jobless numbers are now part of the same local statistics residents see reported.
