Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:
- A second man was sentenced to prison on Monday for his role in two armed robberies at Las Vegas cell phone stores. U.S. District Judge Jennifer A. Dorsey sentenced Kejon Ward, 28, to seven years and ten months in prison, and three years of supervised release following his prison term. Ward, alongside Rushard Burton and Erica Caldwell, stole more than 100 cell phones from two stores on Apr. 28 and Jun. 5, 2017, according to court documents. (News3LV)
- At least 21 people have been displaced after two fires broke out in Las Vegas on Tuesday morning. The first fire started at 5:20 a.m. at a fourplex at 4550 Koval Lane near East Harmon Avenue and caused no injuries, however, 18 people were displaced. The second fire was reported at 8:01 a.m. at a family home in the 1300 block of Cherokee Lane, near Vegas and Rancho drives, and also had no injuries. Three residents of the home have been displaced. - A Las Vegas local hit a jackpot worth $120,000 at an off-Strip casino. The guest, who asked to remain anonymous, hit a royal flush while playing at Palace Station on Monday at approximately 11:42 a.m. According to Station Casinos, the guest had placed a $10.50 bet on Double Super Times Pay Poker.
