Here are the top stories in Las Vegas today:
- Construction on an affordable housing development aimed at supporting seniors is officially underway in the east Las Vegas Valley. On Thursday, crews broke ground on "The Golden Rule Senior Apartments" on Eastern Avenue, according to a news release from Neighborhood Housing Services of Southern Nevada. The organization says the complex will provide 60 rental units for very low-to-moderate-income seniors. (FOX5 Las Vegas)
- Dennis Vasquez, a Las Vegas man, was arrested on a murder warrant after he was caught speeding in a school zone by school police. Vasquez, 32, faces a murder charge in connection with a shooting that occurred on Oct. 18, 2020. The 2020 shooting happened on Key Largo Drive near Tropicana and McLeod, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police. (FOX5 Las Vegas)
