Here are the top stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. A vacant building near El Cortez caught fire early Monday morning. The fire was first reported at 5:14 a.m., according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue. The fire was related to a utility chase that ran to the roof. The building that caught fire was near the corner of Ogden Avenue and 7th Street. No injuries were reported. (News3LV)
  2. A man who was arrested for assaulting a fellow flight passenger was sentenced Monday. The man, who touched a female passenger's inner thigh without consent and then punched her multiple times, was ordered to serve six months of home confinement and pay more than $49,000 in restitution. Flight attendants and other passengers aboard the flight from Seattle to Las Vegas restrained the man before the plane made an emergency landing at Reno-Tahoe International Airport. (Las Vegas Sun)
