🌱 Air Quality Advisory This Weekend + Cannabis Lounge Regs Approved
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Las Vegas.
Welcome back, Las Vegas. I'm here in your inbox today to tell you everything you need to know about what's going on in town. Here's the lowdown.
First, today's weather:
Breezy in the afternoon. High: 106 Low: 83.
📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Las Vegas who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Las Vegas Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top three stories in Las Vegas today:
- Scratchy throat? You're not alone. Officials issued an air quality advisory for Las Vegas this weekend due to elevated levels of smoke. The Clark County Department of Environment and Sustainability says that under those conditions, it may be best for kids, older adults, and people with respiratory and heart diseases to stay inside. - NV just got the green light to light up. The Cannabis Compliance Board on Tuesday approved regulations governing cannabis lounges. The regulations legalize a public venue where people can smoke marijuana. Before the approval of these regulations, the only place where it was legal to consume cannabis was in a private home. Licenses are now available for lounges, 40 to 45 of which will be attached to an existing dispensary and 20 will be independent lounges. (The Nevada Independent)
- Leaders gathered in Las Vegas to address what is being acknowledged as a housing crisis in the state. According to The Nevada Housing Coalition, which organized the event, the state is 84,320 units short of what it needs to provide for Nevadans in extreme poverty. Working-class families are also feeling the squeeze, as rents and housing prices have skyrocketed in recent years. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)

- Las Vegas Fire & Rescue wants to warn you against the fireworks this weekend. Because the weather will be hot, dry, and breezy, setting off fireworks could cause a major wildfire. Don't be that guy. (Las Vegas Fire & Rescue via Facebook)
