- Walmart awarded the Angels of Las Vegas with a $7,000 grant. Angels of Las Vegas supplies a food pantry and funds the Feed Vegas program dedicated to supporting cancer patients throughout Southern Nevada. The grant was awarded during a Women's History Month event held to honor women battling cancer and those who volunteer for Angels of Las Vegas. (Nevada Business Magazine)
- The Palms Casino Resort reopened under new ownership on Wednesday following a two-year pandemic hiatus. The grand reopening was a historic one, as the Palms is now the first casino resort owned and operated by a Native American tribe. The new owners are The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and its San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
- Rebuilding Together Southern Nevada is a Las Vegas nonprofit organization that helps homeowners stay in their affordable houses. Director Bob Cleveland reports that the nonprofit has helped more than 8,300 people keep their affordable houses by funding repairs or payments that need to be made. With the high increase in home prices in Nevada, Cleveland believes its service requests will only continue to grow. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)

- A Red Flag fire weather warning is in effect for the City of Las Vegas today, Apr. 28, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Gusty southwest winds will be up to 40 mph and there will be very low humidity.
