Here are the top three stories in Las Vegas today:

  1. A popular Arts District mural that had been covered by an ad agency has been restored to its former state. Many people spoke out online against the covering of the colorful mural, located across from Nevada Brew Works. The local artist who commissioned the piece was able to power wash the white paint covering off, just ahead of this month's First Friday in the city. (News3LV)
  2. An app called Swimply is connecting Las Vegas pool owners and people looking for a place to cool down. Homeowners can rent out their pools by the hour, while guests use the app to select a pool and pay. According to Las Vegas-based couple Kathleen and Justin, who are renting out their pool on Swimply, "We really enjoy providing a place for families where they can get away and know they are safe."(KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
  3. Want to add a new furry friend to your family? Begin your search with this week's roundup of adorable, adoptable pets living in Las Vegas area shelters as they await their forever homes. Meet Porky the guinea pig, Noodles the domestic shorthair, Legato the chihuahua, and more at the link. (Las Vegas Patch)
