Bellagio Fire Caused By Faulty Light Fixture
The fire caused about $450,000 in damage last week, says Clark County Fire.

The fire that sent flames through the roof of the Bellagio Resort and Casino last week shutting down the Strip for a while as dozens of firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control was caused by a faulty light fixture. That was the conclusion announced Tuesday by the Clark County Fire Department.
No one was injured in the fire last Thursday night.
"Despite strong winds that night, county firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire and limit the damage to the exterior wall and roof," County Fire Chief Greg Cassell said.

"While we never want to see an incident like this occur, it did demonstrate the extraordinary ability of the men and women of the Clark County Fire Department to keep our residents and visitors safe in an emergency."
Cassell said that the light fixture was on an exterior wall of the north retail wing of the building. It was about 3 1/2 feet below the roof line. There was no damage to any of the shops or the inside of the building.
