Happy Saturday, people of Las Vegas! Let's get you all caught up to start today off on an informed note.
First, today's weather:

Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:
- This Super Bowl weekend, several Las Vegas nonprofits are working to track down missing children around the valley. The Big Search, led by F.R.E.E. International and Nevada Child Seekers, takes place over three days with volunteer teams dispatched around Las Vegas. According to Michael Bartel, co-founder of F.R.E.E. International, "There's going to be a huge increase in activity in this town [during the Super Bowl] and we want to take advantage of that activity to be able to find the kids we're looking for." (KTNV Las Vegas)
- In October of 2021, the head of Nevada's higher education system leveled allegations of gender discrimination against state regents. In a report released last week, independent investigators found insufficient evidence of legal violations; however, the report alludes to evidence of unprofessional behavior and potential ethical violations. (Las Vegas Sun)
- A Las Vegas man was struck and killed by a truck outside the Gold Coast. Las Vegas police report that 77-year-old Yongjiu Bai was walking in a marked crosswalk on West Flamingo Road on Monday when he was hit. Bai was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died from his injuries; the death was ruled an accident caused by multiple blunt force trauma. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
