🌱 Bus Driver Accused Of Assault + Support Trafficking Survivors

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Las Vegas.

Good day, people of Las Vegas! It's me again, Dominique-Noelle Rafael, your host of the Las Vegas Daily.

First, today's weather:

Times of clouds and sun. High: 63 Low: 45.

Here are the top 3 stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. A Las Vegas bus driver has been accused of sexually assaulting a passenger. John James is a 44-year-old Regional Transportation Commission bus driver. According to court records, he has been charged with kidnapping, battery with intent to commit sexual assault, and two counts of sexual assault. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
  2. Nevada ranks ninth in the nation for human trafficking. The City Of Las Vegas wants to break this cycle. Las Vegas Fire and Rescue has begun to implement mandatory one hour training sessions that address how to better support and identify sex trafficking victims. Along with this, many other organizations are working to support individual survivors. (Press Release Desk)
  3. Las Vegas hospitals are pleading for locals to not go to ERs for COVID tests. With the ongoing rise of COVID cases, hospitals have been overworked and understaffed. The shortages in staff are not just in the dozens, they are in the hundreds. In response to this, FEMA is opening up two new testing sites. (News3LV)
