Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:
- A K9 unit with the Las Vegas Police Department found 230 pounds of cocaine hidden among a load of tomatoes near Interstate 15 and St. Rose Parkway on Friday. The department stopped a semi-truck after they noticed that the driver was acting erratically. The K9 who found the drugs is named Nuggetz and the cocaine has a street value of roughly $10.5 million. - Lon Enwright, 38, has been awarded $8 million by a jury after being served cleaning solvents instead of the requested tap beer at a Las Vegas casino bar. Enwright said the incident caused him to lose his sense of taste. The $8 million is compensation for the reported loss of enjoyment of life, according to Enwright's attorney. (Las Vegas Sun)
- The Clark County School District has approved a $4,000 relocation bonus for new hires. The bonus was approved by a memorandum of agreement passed by the district's trustees.
