🌱 Eldorado HS Gets $26M Security Upgrade + School Board Candidates

Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. Eldorado High School will receive $26 million in security upgrades. The Clark County School District decided to upgrade security features after violence broke out at schools around the country recently. The contract was entered into with Roche Constructors, Inc. on Jun. 2. A major part of the improvements will be an increase in the number of CCTV security cameras and a single point entry system at the front of the school. (KTNV 13)
  2. One person is dead and two others were injured in a shooting on Tuesday night. Police responded at about 10:30 p.m. in the 4700 block of Monterrey Avenue, near Flamingo Road in east Las Vegas. One person died at the scene of the shooting, while a second was taken into custody with a non-life-threatening injury to the leg. According to police, four men were taken into custody.   3. Las Vegas School Board elections are coming up, and candidates shared their opinions on keeping the classroom safe. Six candidates are on the ballot for the three seats that are available.
