🌱 Welcome To Las Vegas Sign Changes Colors + SPCA Guinea Pig Day

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Las Vegas.

(Patch Media)

Hey, people of Las Vegas! Dominique-Noelle Rafael here with a brand-new issue of the Las Vegas Daily.

First, today's weather:

Cool with sunshine. High: 54 Low: 34.

Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. Three Square Food Bank has announced the return of the Las Vegas Restaurant Week, a 12-day event in which Southern Nevada's restaurants have the opportunity to showcase their venues and menus through culinary arts. This year's event is set to return June 6-17. During the event, participating restaurants will offer prix fixe menus at price points ranging from $20 to $80, and a portion of the meal's cost will directly support Three Square. (FOX5 Las Vegas)
  2. Nevada SPCA celebrated Groundhog Day on Wednesday with their second annual Guinea Pig Day. On Feb. 2, the nonprofit, located at 5375 S. Procyon St. Suite 108, waived fees for all guinea pig adoptions throughout the day, stating that the small creatures are usually overlooked by adopters. The shelter hosted their inaugural event last year and found it to be a great success — all the available guinea pigs were adopted. (News3LV)
  3. The "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign has changed colors for the first time ever to celebrate Black History Month. On Tuesday, Clark County replaced the iconic sign's light bulbs with alternating red, green, and black bulbs for the month. Both Commissioner William McCurdy II and Gov. Steve Sisolak were present at the official changing-of-the-bulbs and spoke afterward. (KTNV Las Vegas)
