The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Las Vegas.

(Patch Media)

Get on up, Las Vegas! It's Tuesday, so let's get you started with everything you need to know going on in town today.

First, today's weather:

Sunshine and patchy clouds. High: 61 Low: 38.

Here are the top 3 stories in Las Vegas today:

  1. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department asks that community members wear blue on Tuesday as a show of support for Human Trafficking Awareness Day. Those who participate can use the #WearBlueDay hashtag to help raise awareness. The LVMPD reported over 200 victims of human trafficking last year alone and wants to continue to raise awareness in the community. (KTNV Las Vegas)
  2. Prison Families Alliance is a nonprofit organization led by Julia Lazareck. Their mission is to provide support to the families of prisoners. The organization hosts frequent workshops and meetings (held virtually due to COVID) to offer support but also to educate. Their website has a lot of information, including what to bring to a prison, what to expect during a visit, and more. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
  3. Las Vegas' largest COVID-19 testing site is now open at Sam Boyd Stadium. It relocated from UNLV's Paradise Campus so that it had the opportunity to expand. The site can now administer roughly 1,200 COVID-19 tests and 300 COVID-19 vaccines per day. (KTNV Las Vegas)
