🌱 Monday Hit-And-Run + Las Vegas Named Best For Recreation + Curfew
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Las Vegas.
Hi all. It's me, Dominique-Noelle Rafael, your host of the Las Vegas Daily — here to impart everything that's fit to print about what's happening in town these days. Here goes...
First, today's weather:
Plenty of sunshine. High: 102 Low: 78.
Here are the top three stories in Las Vegas today:
- Police are looking for a suspect who hit and critically injured a pedestrian on Monday. The hit-and-run took place at around 8:47 p.m. on Jul. 4 on Miller Avenue, west of the intersection with Revere Street. A Chevrolet Cruze collided with the pedestrian in the street, knocking them to the ground in front of 827 Miller Avenue before fleeing the area. Please contact Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section at 702-828-3786 if you have any information. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
- Las Vegas has been named the best city for recreation, according to Wallethub. The city made the top spot on the list due to its accessibility to entertainment and recreational facilities. In addition, top rankings were earned due to the city's music venues and park playgrounds per capita, as well as bike rental facilities per capita. (News3LV)
- Las Vegas is considering a curfew for people under 21 after a string of shootings in the Fremont district downtown. On Tuesday, Mayor Carolyn Goodman shared the idea in a tweet after she met with Downtown Las Vegas property owners. Goodman stated, "We're all in agreement there is no tolerance for violence/crime."
