🌱 New Pool Size Restrictions + Active Shooter Training For Teachers

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Las Vegas.

Hello, hello. I'm back in your inbox this morning with all the most important things happening locally. Let's do it.

First, today's weather:

Record-tying heat. High: 113 Low: 88.

Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. The Las Vegas Valley Water District has approved new pool size restrictions. The new rules will limit new pool construction to under 600 square feet. The new restrictions are an effort to conserve water. The average pool size in the valley is well under the size restriction at 470 square feet. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
  2. LasVegasJobs.com is hosting a career fair today between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The fair will be at the Sunset Station and will attract local companies looking to fill open positions. PepsiCo, Skyways Media, SP Plus, and Station Casinos have confirmed their attendance. Participants are encouraged to bring resumes. (News3LV)
  3. Las Vegas teachers are demanding active shooter training. The Clark County School District offers training but educators report that it is not adequate. The Nevada Education Association of Southern Nevada tried to fill in training gaps with a virtual training session on Monday. Former school resource officer and retired Utah police captain Justin Chapman led the virtual training. (News3LV)
