🌱 North Las Vegas Mayoral Forum + Safari Motel Converted To Shelter

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Las Vegas.

Good morning, Las Vegas. I'm here in your inbox this morning to tell you everything you need to know about what's going on around town.

First, today's weather:

Sunny and very hot. High: 102 Low: 74.

📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Las Vegas who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Las Vegas Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. North Las Vegas mayoral candidates proposed solutions for homelessness, veterans services, and revitalizing Windsor Park during a forum last Friday. The event was organized by the Nevada Democratic Veterans & Military Families Group. The Nevada Independent Editor Elizabeth Thompson moderated the event and five candidates participated. Click the link to learn about their proposals and what sets each candidate apart. (Patch)
  2. The Safari Motel on Fremont Street is being converted into housing for the homeless. The BETterment Community will provide bridge housing for up to 90 days along with counseling and employment assistance to those who visit. The program anticipates serving as many as 46 clients at a time. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
  3. A second suspect is in custody in relation to the murder of a Las Vegas casino manager this month. James Garvey Holmes was arrested on suspicion of open murder, robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery. The other suspect, Samuel Schmid, has been charged with the death of the 60-year-old casino manager, Alicia Gibellina. (News3LV)
