🌱 Northwest Valley Shooting + Pool Chemical Thief + Record Gas Prices

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Las Vegas.

Hello, hello! I'm back in your inbox this warm morning to walk you through the most important things happening in town. Follow along for the latest...

First, today's weather:

Abundant sunshine and hot. High: 104 Low: 81.

📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Las Vegas who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Las Vegas Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. One person is in custody after a shooting at an apartment complex in the northwest valley on Monday morning. According to Metro Police, the shooting was reported around 11:00 a.m. in the 6600 block of Silverstream Avenue. The victim was taken to University Medical Center and, as of Monday evening, is in unknown condition. The investigation is still ongoing. (Las Vegas Sun)
  2. Have you seen this man? Las Vegas police are looking for a man who was seen stealing pool chemicals form local stores. One such theft occurred on Mar. 31 at a store in the 6000 block of W. Craig Road. To see surveillance photos of the man, click the link. (News3LV)
  3. The temperature is going up and so are gas prices. According to AAA, Las Vegas has set a new record high gas price. The city average for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $5.42. That's almost 20 cents more than it was a week ago, and nearly two dollars more than a year ago. Nevada trails only California in gas prices, where the average price per gallon is $6.34.
