Planned for UNLV's Harry Reid Research and Technology Park in southwest Las Vegas, the facility will bring advanced trauma, NICU, cancer, and behavioral health care much closer to home.

'Paying our fair share:' Clark County fires back at Las Vegas over alleged debts (8newsnow.com) — Las Vegas residents are watching a tense funding dispute between the city and Clark County over who owes what for shared services in the fast-growing northwest area. County commissioners pushed back on city claims of unpaid emergency-response costs, citing hundreds of millions they say already support Las Vegas. Both sides insist fire and emergency coverage will continue while they renegotiate an interlocal agreement before its 2027 deadline.
   

3. Dig it! Coffee reopens in southwest Las Vegas, aiming for more accessibility (fox5vegas.com) — A beloved inclusive coffee shop has reopened on the Garden Foundation campus in southwest Las Vegas, giving locals a new weekend spot at 8390 W. Windmill Lane. Dig It! Coffee now pairs its pink, disco-ball vibe with a mission-driven focus on employing adults with disabilities, offering Saturday and Sunday service from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
   

4. UNLV film students face challenges building cinematic careers in Las Vegas (fox5vegas.com) — UNLV film students in Las Vegas are finding strong training and growing local buzz, from specialty IMAX screenings to independent films downtown. But faculty say building a lasting film career here still requires side jobs and better state support, pointing to failed studio legislation and more robust opportunities in places like Hollywood.
   

5. Las Vegas Valley police host National Night Out events to build community trust (news3lv.com) — Police departments across the Las Vegas Valley, including North Las Vegas and Metro, just hosted National Night Out events to strengthen trust between officers and neighbors.
