Here are the top stories in Las Vegas today:

  1. Las Vegas Police are investigating a homicide near Las Vegas Boulevard. Police were called to the area of Industrial Road and Chicago Avenue at about 12:40 p.m. Sunday on reports of a deadly incident. (KTNV Las Vegas)
  2. During the New Years' celebration on Las Vegas Boulevard, about a dozen people were treated at local hospitals and medical tents. Six people were taken to area hospitals, and two people were sent to medical tents set up in the resort corridor. (News3LV)
  3. Las Vegas police arrested two men in connection to fatal shootings in parking garages near the Las Vegas Strip. Police say the shootings stemmed from attempted burglaries in the parking garages, and a woman and man were killed. (FOX5 Las Vegas)

  • The City of Las Vegas Government shared that with more than 150 marriages per day, Las Vegas is the "Marriage Capital of the World." In 2022, the five millionth wedding license will be issued. (Facebook)
  • The Las Vegas Valley Water District shared a video reminding residents of the winter watering restrictions and to limit landscape irrigation to one assigned day a week. (Facebook)
  • The Las Vegas Fire & Rescue reminded residents that if they still have a Christmas tree, there is an extreme risk of fire, especially if needles are falling off. It should be removed immediately. (Facebook)
