- This past Saturday morning, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a shooting. The incident took place near El Cortez Hotel and Casino at around 3:35 a.m. According to reports, two people, one male and one female, were injured. Thankfully, their injuries were not life-threatening. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
- The city of North Las Vegas is in the process of developing a $5 billion medical campus. The city council is slated to vote on a master development agreement for the project, which would take about 10 years to complete, later this month. The lack of medical care in the area is what sparked this project, designed to "quadruple the number of hospital beds in North Las Vegas and [...] bring high-paying jobs" to the community. (News3LV)
