🌱 Visitor Numbers Increase + Ultimate Texas Hold'Em Jackpot Winner

First, today's weather:

A t-storm around in the p.m. High: 101 Low: 83.


Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. Las Vegas visitor numbers are increasing but have not returned to pre-pandemic amounts. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority made the announcement on Thursday. The city experienced an 11.9 percent increase in visitors compared to the same time last year. The city's hotel industry enjoyed an 11.8 increase in room occupancy since last year. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
  2. A man won $880,000 by hitting a jackpot on the Las Vegas Strip. Alan Davila hit the jackpot at Cromwell by playing Ultimate Texas Hold'em. Davila, a vacationer from Mexico, reportedly plans to use the winnings to pay for his college tuition. (Las Vegas Sun)
  3. The Las Vegas Police Department has arrested a man in a string of Red Bull energy drink robberies in July. Eugene Davis has been charged with various counts of robbery and burglary. He is due in court on Aug. 9. (News3LV)
