Here are the top three stories in Las Vegas today:

  1. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has closed West Silverado Ranch Boulevard. The road was closed due to flooding that occurred after heavy rainfall in the area. Nobody was stranded when multiple vehicles became stuck due to the rising waters. As of Monday night, it's recommended to find detours. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
  2. Las Vegas detectives are currently searching for a man that attempted to murder an individual during an attempted robbery. The suspect was recorded on surveillance systems fleeing from a home in the 2800 block of Faiss Drive on Sunday. The unidentified suspect's gun failed to fire during the incident. Anyone with information about the individual is asked to contact the department. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
  3. Las Vegas food banks are reportedly experiencing higher demand as inflation strains the community. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, food prices are up 10 percent in 2022 which corresponds to a 5-15 percent increase in food bank attendance. The food banks are able to handle the increased attendance, but supplies are strained. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
