🌱 Woman Arrested For Trafficking + Search For Homicide Evidence

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Las Vegas.

Happy Tuesday, Las Vegas! Let's start today off on an informed note. Here's everything worth knowing around Las Vegas today.

First, today's weather:

Plenty of sunshine. High: 62 Low: 38.

Here are the top 3 stories in Las Vegas today:

  1. A woman has been arrested after being accused of sex trafficking children on the Las Vegas Strip. Notably, this is not her first case. Tori Magnum,21, has been previously arrested for an almost-identical case. Her most recent arrest took place last Tuesday after police received a tip. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
  2. Police searched a local pond for evidence that may help in a homicide case. Last week, authorities partially drained a pond located at Aliante Nature Discovery Park. Since then, no information has been disclosed about what was found at the bottom of the pond or about the case. They will keep the public informed on future updates. (KDWN)
  3. A Las Vegas couple will be serving time after admitting responsibility in their four-month-old daughter's death. According to reports, the daughter died with methamphetamine in her system. Evangelina Salomon and Brian Carroll entered guilty pleas on Jan. 22. They are scheduled for sentencing on Mar. 18. (FOX5 Las Vegas)

From our sponsor:

Last week, we told you about our new favorite non-alcoholic go-to — the refreshingly bitter drinks from our partners at Betera. They're chef-created from natural botanicals, lightly effervescent and worthy of life beyond "Dry January." We mentioned that their Ginger-Orange was excellent; we've since tried Elderflower-Lime and loved it as well — light and floral with the perfect amount of zing. We're converts.

Enough of you took Betera up on their 15% discount on first orders for Patch Daily readers that they've extended the offer for another week. Use PATCH15 at checkout. Highly recommended — try Betera here.
