• Dannie Hyatt, 70-year-old Pahrump man, goes missing (pvtimes.com subscription) — Nye County Sheriff's Office is asking Pahrump residents to help locate 70-year-old Dannie Hyatt, last seen leaving his Ovation at Mountain Falls home in a blue 2025 Honda CR-V on Aug. 24. His daughters say he's highly routine, has health issues, and would not normally disappear. Anyone with information is urged to call the sheriff's office.
   

• Pahrump Valley scores 34 after halftime in 42-34 loss to Durango (pvtimes.com) — Pahrump Valley High's Trojans nearly pulled off a huge comeback in Las Vegas, scoring 34 points after halftime before falling 42-34 to Durango. The story highlights standout performances by quarterback Evan Strain and playmaker Lucas Gavenda, plus a gritty defensive effort. Fans are also reminded the Trojans next travel to Chaparral High in Las Vegas this Friday evening.
