Here are the top three stories in Reno today:
- The Reno Fire Antique and Classic Aparatux Committee is seeking a new home for seven classic firefighting vehicles and antique pieces of equipment after the warehouse that is currently housing them increased its rent. With the large rent increase, the city is no longer able to cover the lease, and if the city and the committee aren't able to find a new affordable option, they may be forced to sell off some or all of the pieces. - U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen made a visit for the first time to the Reno Public Market, which opened in January. The senator is on the small businesses and entrepreneurship committee in the Senate. Of small business, Rosen said, "Small businesses are not just the engine in Nevada but the engine across the country, and they need our support." (2News)
- In nearby Sparks, the Sparks Fire Department reported that an early-morning fire on Saturday damaged an apartment and injured a person living in the apartment. Although fire engines responded quickly to the fire, the apartment was reportedly damaged to the point of being inhabitable. Officials are investigating the cause of the fire. (KOLO)
