• Man arrested for allegedly stealing $40,000 from Reno nonprofit (kolotv.com) — A man is in custody in Idaho after authorities say he diverted $40,000 intended for new flooring at the Reno Tropics basketball gym, leaving the project unfinished. Washoe County prosecutors link him to prior fraud convictions, and the nonprofit is now seeking $68,000 in donations to recover the loss and restart the gym upgrade.
   

• 60,000+ NV Energy customers without power due to Hawk Fire (2news.com) — More than 60,000 NV Energy customers in northwest Reno and the North Valleys are without power after emergency shutoffs tied to the Hawk Fire. The utility says de-energizing lines is critical to preventing new ignitions and has no restoration estimate yet, while crews monitor fire behavior to safely bring customers back online.
