- The U.S. National Weather Service has advised residents of Reno to watch out for the possibility of freezing fog during the nighttime hours the rest of this week. After a snowy and unsettled weekend, the week ahead will be much milder with very cold temperatures and gusty ridge winds. Watch for hazy urban conditions through Friday. - Reno police arrested two people in connection with a murder last April. Marcos Avalos succumbed to his gunshot injuries in April 2021, and police have worked to close the case since. On Tuesday, officers arrested 26-year-olds Cristian A. Barcenas and Daniel Mendez on the charge of open murder with a deadly weapon. (KOLO)
- Washoe County manager Eric Brown received a 10 percent raise after a positive annual review by the Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday, according to officials. Brown was rated by a panel of 21 individuals working for the county and outside the Board and received a perfect score of 100 for effective leadership, high personal standard and integrity, and effective communication. Under Brown's leadership, Washoe ended the 2022 fiscal year under budget with a $12 million fund balance. (This Is Reno)
