Here are the top 3 stories in Reno today:
- Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada is asking for the community's help and support in finding items for the St. Vincent Thrift Stores. They are looking for "gently used items like men's, women's, and children's clothes, holiday decorations, yard tools, books, toys, and household necessities." All of the proceeds will stay in the community by being used for their food pantries, immigration assistance, and the St. Vincent's Dining Room. (KOLO)
- This Tuesday, Jacobs Entertainment broke ground on the corner of Arlington and 2nd Street for their first ground-up apartment project. Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve claimed that this was long overdue. She stated that she is focused on cleaning up downtown Reno and revitalizing the city. According to reports, 10 percent of the units will be sectioned off as affordable housing. Mayor Schieve hopes that this will help alleviate the stress of the current housing crisis. (KRNV)
- Are you looking for a fun craft to get your creative juices going? If so, look no further than Sierra Ward's Glass Gardens. She appeared on KOLO 8 News yesterday and demonstrated how to build your own simple terrarium. This mother of two was actually born and raised in Incline Village. Even though her side hustle is running Glass Gardens, she also owns a hair salon, Sierra Bella. It has been in business for 12 years! To learn more about her story and how to build your own terrarium, check out the article. (KOLO)
