Here are the top three stories today in Reno:

  1. The community is invited to the "Drink Dance Donate + Art" fundraiser this week at the local Good Luck Macbeth Theater. The fundraiser, which takes place on Apr. 14 to 15 at 7:30 p.m., will raise funds to help partners Around the Stage and Sage Ridge School to create a living public art experience called "Seraphim." Sage Ridge students will help build Seraphim, a beautiful 18′ tall guardian art sculpture, which will be showcased on the school's campus as part of an Art Town performance this summer and will travel to different art exhibits in the U.S. and Mexico. 2. Reno City Council has approved a grant agreement with Rebuilding Together Northern Nevada to manage a new neighborhood renewal program. In an effort to keep and improve affordable housing units, the $200,000 in funding will help Reno homeowners repair a minimum of 22 homes for households at or below 80 percent of the area median income. "This particular program is special because it's going to allow us to assist Reno residents who are already established here, but just need a little extra help to improve their current living conditions," said Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve. (KKOH)
  3. The City of Reno will be hosting a senior artists exhibit and show at the end of the month. Those over 60 who are interested in participating can submit entries for the exhibit and show today through Friday at the McKinley Arts and Culture Center from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event will take place from Apr. 25 to Jun. 3 in the East Wing Gallery of the McKinley Arts and Culture Center.
