Here are the top 3 stories in Reno today:

  1. Within the past two years, the Reno-Sparks area in Nevada has seen an increased interest from entrepreneurs who are looking for places to establish their businesses. Some of the reasons for people choosing this region over metropolitan areas is because of a higher quality of life and lower amount of costs required to conduct business. Two small businesses have actually been seeing huge successes here ever since their move. (KUNR Public Radio)
  2. If you have missed reading and relaxing in the Northwest Reno Library, we have some great news for you. The library, which is located at 2325 Robb Drive in Reno, has finally reopened for the public. Their grand reopening took place this past Wednesday. During the five months of renovations, they were able to add "new carpet, fresh paint, new flooring, new furniture and equipment, more spaces to hang art, more spaces for families and children, and a computer room." (KOLO)
  3. Assistant Professor of Elementary Education William Toledo and Assistant Professor at Boise State University's College of Education Esther Enright are the co-authors of "Deliberation on the Public Good during COVID-19: A Case Study Examining Elementary Students' Use of Civic Perspective." In this multi-year study, they are trying to shed light on how the pandemic is affecting the next generation's political discourse. Currently, they are working with fourth-graders in the Washoe County School District. (Nevada Today)
