Here are the top three stories today in Reno:
- The Washoe County's Board of County Commissioners has included a proposed "election integrity" measure on its agenda for today's meeting. On Friday, the ACLU of Nevada sent a letter to the board, stating the organization will sue if the "wholly unnecessary" and "patently illegal" measure passes. The ACLU stated the Board of County Commissioners does not have the authority to pass the measure, which is championed by a small but vocal group who believe there was massive voter fraud in the 2020 election. - Over a month after Governor Steve Sisolak lifted Nevada's indoor mask mandate, a local place of worship has seen "almost indescribable" growth. The Living Stones Church South Reno, which first opened its doors in August of 2019, paused in-person services at the start of the pandemic and focused on virtual events to build community. As pandemic restrictions ease, "there is a wave [of] hundreds and hundreds of people that are coming in for church," according to lead pastor Ryan Griffin. Though masks are no longer required, the church maintains its improved health, safety, and cleanliness measures. (KOLO)
- The City of Reno has announced four neighborhood street rehabilitation projects, taking place between now and the summer. Affected neighborhoods include Swope, Humboldt North, Humboldt South, and Watt. Visit the link for full project descriptions, impacted roads, and construction timelines. (Press Release Desk)
