Here are the top three stories in Reno today:
- Police investigated a false report of armed suspects near Katherine Dunn Elementary School on Wednesday. According to officials, three suspects were shooting a child with an airsoft gun near the elementary school when the Sparks Police Department was called to the scene. According to police, the original phone call reported multiple "armed suspects" near the area of O'Callaghan and Rosemary drives. The incident is described as "a social media trend gone wrong." - A man who murdered his girlfriend in a Reno hotel will spend the rest of his life behind bars. According to reports, Lamar Andre Adams shot his girlfriend to death while her kids were in the room. Adams was sentenced by a Washoe County court this week. (KRNV)
- A Reno woman is sounding the alarm on e-scooters after an incident earlier this month. After midnight on May 14, Holly Pearl struck an e-scooter rider with her vehicle. She says that the event was traumatizing and hopes that better regulations can be put in place for bicycles and e-scooters in Reno. (KOLO)
