Here are the top three stories today in Reno:

  1. Three officers from the Reno Police Department were recently nominated for an award for their involvement in rescuing two people in a car accident in November of last year. The officers were responding to an accident when another vehicle drove off the road and into the water. Officers worked quickly to rescue the unresponsible driver and his passenger out of the car before it flooded. You can vote for the officers for the RISE award here. (KOLO)
  2. Students from the University of Nevada, Reno College of Business, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas traveled to Singapore to learn about international business and network with professionals as part of the Nevada Global Business program. The program allows students to get hands-on experience in the business world. Twenty-seven students made the trip to Singapore during the second week of January this year. (Nevada Today)
  3. A late-night fire on Thursday at an apartment complex on Kietzke Lane displaced the residents of at least three apartment units. Officials are investigating the cause of the fire while the Red Cross of Northern Nevada assists displaced residents. (KRNV)
