• City Council to consider gas pump expansion at Sparks Costco location (2news.com) — Sparks residents may soon see more gas pumps at the Spanish Springs Costco, as the Sparks City Council is set to vote this afternoon on expanding the station and adding a large new underground fuel tank. The project would boost fueling nozzles from 18 to 24 and create new sign standards for gas canopies, following prior expansions approved in 2015 and 2017.
   

• Truckee Meadows Fire set to hold series of Green Waste Collections (kolotv.com) — Sparks-area homeowners can clear defensible space this fall by dropping off green waste at Lazy 5 Regional Park on Sunday, October 18, as part of Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue’s regional collection days. The free events accept natural yard debris like junipers, pines, rabbitbrush, and sagebrush, but no household trash, with several other nearby locations and dates also available.
